Sydneysiders have been warned to take care as smoke swarms the city for the fourth consecutive day.
On Wednesday, the Harbour City was rated as one of the world’s worst five cities for air quality.
The smoke follows hazard-reduction burns being conducted in the outer suburbs.
Firefighters have assured Australians the blanket of smoke will lift by Sunday.
It will be just in time for those participating in the Sydney Marathon on that day.
