Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO Andrew McKellar says Energy and Climate Change Minister Chris Bowen’s comments on nuclear energy raised more questions than answers.
“I think to some extent what this shows … we want to be technology neutral – all options should be on the table,” Mr McKellar told Sky News Australia.
“I don’t think we should be ruling it out.
“If it’s the best solution, then it should be there to use.”
Mr McKellar’s remarks come after Labor released a new analysis which shows replacing coal-fired power plants with nuclear could cost Australia $387 billion.
