More than 50 leading Australian farmers are coming together for a two-day national soil summit with drought and climate on the agenda.
Australian farmers are the world leaders on solutions to some of agriculture’s biggest global challenges including declining soil and landscape health which is impacting agricultural systems worldwide.
Sky News Australia was joined by President of the Victorian No-Till Farmers Association Grant Sims, Soils for Life Director and Managing Director of Tas Ag Co Sam Trethewey and Poultry Farmer Harriet Finlayson to discuss agriculture in Australia.
“Soils for Life is a not-for-profit organisation, and it basically works on assisting Australian farmers repair their soil and their landscape through peer-to-peer networks,” said Mr Trethewey.
He said farmers are assisted through “peer-to-peer networks, case studies, accessed information and a broader community that are out there with boots on the ground making real change”.
